The first three games we lost, mainly due to the timing of my appointment and the fact that we were left with very few players from last years squad.I had to ask the u18s and u19s to fiil the gaps and they tried manfully but we were strangers and we were a long way from where we needed to be
Since then we have worked hard to put a squad together who can compete and i think we have that now and results have improved and we are unbeaten in our last three games, and improving every week.
The turning point i believe was the defeat to Wakefield where,in the first half we played some fantastic football,ok the result went against us but it gave the lads the belief they had been lacking and since then they have knuckled down and got the results they have deserved.
Our latest game was a 6-1 win at Silsden, and without being disrespectful the scoreline flattered them.We should have scored a few more goals but i was delighted with the performance. Our passing and energy was superb and it was great to see the lads enjoying themselves after a tough couple of months.
